A Metro Token is the 20 digit number that you receive when you buy electricity/water. When you receive the Token you will need to enter it onto the meter by punching in the 20 digits followed by the enter or # key.
You can take your meter card or your 11 digit meter number to the selected outlets & buy tokens for your meter. You are also able to purchase credit online through purchasing options listed on our website using Debit or Credit Card.

One is able to use someone else’s keypad and pair it to their own meter using the following steps:
Pairing instructions:
- Stand as close as possible to the meter (approximately 2meters )
- Switch keypad on using the arrow key
- Wait for keypad to display the time/clock
- Enter #999# Followed by the serial no (meter no.)ending with # #
- Should the keypad not display the time again you would need to press the Arrow Key to wake it up.
- Enter # # and the keypad will now display the correct meter number.
No, a Token will only work on your meter

The receipt, text or email you receive after purchasing tokens contains a 20 digit metro code. Punch the 20 digit metro code onto the meter & press the enter button to load your credit onto the meter.
